CatchUp AI sports highlights.
Viewers ask in one sentence, the system cuts that moment.
Point Media Tech's CatchUp AI is an AI sports highlights system. It indexes the match feed while the game is live, so a viewer can type "bottom of the ninth", "only this player" or "cut it to 10 minutes" in your OTT app and get the matching clip. During the match, a live highlight reel updates itself. Clips go to your existing player as HLS playlists and carry the rights-region settings of the source match.

APIQuery and clip endpoints
A viewer types "bottom of the ninth"
and gets a clip that plays right away.
This is what a viewer sees inside your own OTT app. Under the query bar is the finished clip: its total length, the segments it was cut from, and three actions: share, add to My List, jump back into the full game. The right rail is the live highlight reel, so late joiners can catch up before switching to live.
A match runs for hours.
Most viewers want a few minutes of it.
Viewing on sports OTT has split. Some people watch the whole game live; many more join late, follow a single player, or have ten minutes on a commute. The usual answer is one highlight package cut by an editor after the game: everyone gets the same version, and they wait for it. CatchUp AI hands the edit to each viewer's own request, so everyone gets the moment they asked for.
One cut after the game, the same for everyone
Editors pick, cut and publish after the final out. Each game gets one or two lengths. Viewers who want a specific player or inning scrub the timeline themselves, and late joiners have no way to catch up while the game is still on.
Index during the live feed, clip on request
The event index is built as the match airs. Viewers name the inning, player, event type or length in plain language. A live reel keeps updating during the match. Clips reach your existing player as HLS, can be shared or saved, and keep their rights-region settings.
Four capabilities,
from the event index to the viewer's screen.
CatchUp AI covers queries, the live reel, length-based summaries and delivery controls. All four share one event index and can be opened to viewers in phases.
Plain-language queries · Query
Viewers ask the way fans talk. The system breaks the sentence into game, inning or quarter, player and event type, pulls the matching segments from the event index, and assembles them in order into one video.
- Inning or quarter, top or bottom
- A player's at-bats or shots
- Event types: scores, defense, pitching changes
- Chinese and English queries
Live highlight reel · Live Highlights
While the match is on, each key event adds a segment to the reel and updates the playlist. Late joiners watch the reel to catch up, then switch to live in one tap.
- Updates with the live feed
- Configurable reel length cap
- Jump from the reel to the live point
- Works with spoiler-safe mode
Length-based summaries · Summaries
Viewers pick 5, 10 or 20 minutes. The system allots time by event importance and cuts a summary with context, and viewers can ask for more of one stretch, such as the fourth quarter.
- Segments chosen to fit the target length
- Weighting for a requested stretch
- At-bats and possessions kept intact
- Available right after the game
Delivery and rights · Delivery & Rights
Clips are delivered as HLS playlists and share links, and inherit the rights region and DRM settings of the source match. In spoiler-safe mode, titles and previews hide scores and results.
- HLS playlists
- Share links with previews
- Rights-region checks
- Spoiler-safe titles and thumbnails
CatchUp AI sits between the broadcast feed and the viewer's app.
The system takes the match feed and builds the event index as it airs. Viewer queries arrive through OTT Platform or your existing app, the clips go back to the player, and SSAI can insert a sponsor pre-roll when needed.

Operator side: how a query becomes a clip
The same query, seen from the operator console. The system breaks the sentence into game, inning and half, then pulls segments from the event index. Cuts land on at-bat starts, batted balls and replay wipes, not on fixed time windows.

Frequently asked questions.
Which sports does CatchUp AI support?
Point Media Tech's CatchUp AI supports baseball and basketball first. The event index follows each sport's structure: innings, at-bats and pitches in baseball; quarters and scoring possessions in basketball. Other sports are confirmed during assessment, based on the broadcast feed and the event types required.
How is CatchUp AI different from catch-up TV?
Catch-up TV lets viewers rewatch a full programme after it airs. CatchUp AI cuts specific moments, or a summary of a chosen length, from a match on each viewer's request, and keeps a live highlight reel going while the game is on. The two work side by side: OTT Platform serves the full replay, and CatchUp AI serves the clips and highlights.
Do we have to replace our existing OTT platform?
No. CatchUp AI exposes queries and clips through an API and outputs standard HLS playlists, so it plugs into your existing OTT player and apps. With Point Media Tech's OTT Platform, the query entry point and playback UI are already built in.
How is the live highlight reel produced?
The system builds the event index while the match is live. Each time a key event occurs, such as a score, a decisive at-bat or a pitching change, the segment is added to the reel and the playlist is updated. Viewers who join late can catch up on the reel, then switch back to live.
How are rights regions and spoilers handled?
Every clip inherits the rights-region settings of the source match, and both playback and share links check the viewer's location. In spoiler-safe mode, clip titles and preview images hide scores and results.
