Cue second-screen interactionEntertainment

Wherever the show goes,
viewers play along.

Point Media Tech's Cue lets entertainment-channel viewers guess round results, vote, save highlight moments and buy what is on screen, right on their phones while they watch. Cards appear in step with the picture, and no answer is revealed before the viewer's own TV shows it.

Viewers' phones are always in hand,
but disconnected from the show.

Viewers swipe away at every breakRevenue depends on ad breaks, which are exactly when viewers pick up their phones. The momentum of the show never turns into revenue.
The phone spoils the resultFortune reports that streaming services often run about 15–60 seconds behind live TV. When social feeds and push alerts reveal the result first, viewers have one less reason to keep watching.
Products only get an end-card mentionViewers who want what the host is wearing, or a sponsor's offer, have to note a URL and wait for the credits. By then the moment has passed.

Every round gives
viewers something to do.

Fewer, better-timed cards: a glance during the action, and anything that needs input waits until viewers have a moment.

  • Follow the show map

The phone shows this episode's route of rounds. Rounds that have not aired stay hidden, so the phone never gets ahead of the TV.

  • Guess results and vote live

Guess who clears each round before it starts, and vote for guests during the show. Answers are revealed at the same moment as on the viewer's own TV.

  • Save highlights to unlock rewards

Viewers save their favourite moments and collect a set to unlock rewards such as behind-the-scenes clips, which gives them a reason to watch to the end.

  • Buy what is on screen

Outfits worn by hosts and guests, and products featured in the show, appear on the phone the moment they appear on screen, ready to buy.

The show's momentum,
turned into revenue every segment.

Revenue follows the programme, not just the ad breaks. The back office shows the interaction and revenue each segment and each card brings in.

Programme-matched productsWhatever is on screen can be bought on the phone. Channels without their own storefront can send viewers to an existing store and still track every sale.
Title sponsorship"Brought to you by" sponsor cards appear in the segments that fit, with interactive content and performance reporting.

Frequently asked questions.

Can the answer to a guess appear before the TV shows it?

No. Cue releases each card according to the viewer's own TV, so results and answers never appear on the phone before that TV shows them.

Do we have to design interactions for every episode?

No. Basic interactions are prepared automatically when a video enters the library; only the episodes you want to feature need extra work.

Will viewers look at their phones instead of the show?

No. Cards are few and well timed: during the action viewers see only cards they can read at a glance, and anything that needs an answer or a purchase waits for a pause.
